The Balloons flew the coop

The mass ascension today was the last event of the Balloon Fiesta and they had a perfect day at the field.  We had planned on attending, however Gerry is still feeling under the weather so we didn't make it for the final day.   We did see them on the TV and it was beautiful to see.

They said it would take a week or so to come up with a total number of people attending the events.  This mornings crowd was huge and they were treated to a great ascension.

We talked to Barbara & Henry for over two hours today just catching up on what has been happening in their lives.  I don't remember all that we chatted about, but it did take a long time.  It was great hearing from them and hearing their voices.  It sort of reminded us of when we lived in Africa and would talk to the for a long time.  Of course it was a lot cheaper this time since we didn't have to pay the $7/min charge that was normal in the 1980s.

We took it easy other than that and watched some football.  I was glad to see Baltimore beat Dallas since Dallas is in the same division as my Redskins.  Gerry absolutely does not like to see Baltimore win since the state of Maryland put a tax on to pay for the stadium in Baltimore.  It was one of the few times that we have been on opposite sides of a football game.  Dallas won all the stats, but lost the game.

We are planning on hanging around here a few more days and get Gerry back to feeling better.  They are forecasting great weather for the next couple days so that will work out fine for us.

That was our day, how was yours?

  1. So sorry to hear Gerry is still not feeling well, hope she is better soon for your trip to CCRV.
Get plenty of rest and drink plenty of fluids and beat that stuff out of your system Gerry.
