Home on the Range

Gerry finally relented to go to a walk in clinic and getting some help for her cough.  She spent a good deal of the previous night coughing and catching whatever sleep she could.  I called around and found a walk in clinic nearby and off we went.  They took her in very quickly and ruled out pneumonia (that hadn't entered our minds) and said it was bronchitis.  The doctor prescribed an inhaler and 5 days of antibiotics.  She started on them and the inhaler seems to have helped quite a lot.

We made plans to meet friends Russell & Karen for lunch and had to postpone it to an early dinner at the Range Cafe in Bernalillo which is very close to where we are staying.  They hadn't been there in years and always enjoyed the food there so it was an ideal place to meet.  We sat around and chatted like magpies for about 3 hours.  I was trying to talk them into visiting Tucson for the Gem show since their daughter and her husband would be there with a booth for the show.  He was trying to talk me into joining them in Texas next spring when we leave Tucson.  Who knows, maybe both of us will change our plans.

We got back to the motor home in time to see the last 1/2 of the election debate.  It was interesting to listen to the "talking heads" on CBS, ABC & NBC give their analysis of the debate and their conclusions.  Then to listen to FOX and their version.  I just hope the American public is smart enough to form their own opinion on what has been going on in the U.S. the past 3 1/2 years and votes accordingly.  That is all I am going to say on the subject on the blog since I don't want to turn it into a political discussion.

The doctor did recommend Gerry hang around Albuquerque for a few days to see how the inhaler and antibiotics help her.  We will stay at least until Thursday and then head on down the road assuming all is well with her.  It's nice to not have to be somewhere and be able to change our plans accordingly.

The Sandia Mountains just east of us looked like a huge lump of coal today.  I took a shot of the Mts, but the picture doesn't do justice to how beautiful they looked.
