Anyone for a Mint?

We left Hollywood, SC today and made our way to Mint Hill, NC where we will "moochdock" in the driveway of our son and his family.  They recently bought a new home and he installed a 30amp electrical service near the driveway so we will be set staying there for a while.

I needed to fuel up and checked diesel prices along our intended route and stopped at the  FlyingJ in Rock Hill, SC to fill up.  The MH fuel tank wasn't full when we left and I wanted to top it off to get a good reading on what the mileage will be.  It topped off after 92 gallons of fuel and was right up to the intake pipe.  I started off with using an American Express card and it stopped at $100 and then a message to see the cashier.  Bull!  I noticed a sign that said Visa was good for $495 so I switched to Visa.  It stopped at $150 and I inserted the card again.  I was able to fill it up then before it stopped.  Thank God I got the $.03/gallon discount.  Finally the tank was full and we were on our way.  I shouldn't have to do that again for 1,000 miles or so.

We arrived in the Charlotte area at rush hour and had to fight our way through the Pineville area on I-485 and then the traffic eased up and we motored into his development.  His driveway is quite large and we got the MH parked and setup fairly fast.   The 50amp electric cord on the MH was too short so we hurried out to buy a 25ft 30amp cord to make the connection.  I didn't want a 50amp cord since they are so heavy and take up too much space.  Once that was accomplished we showed Grant and Larry Jr the MH and all the bells and whistles on it.  Jane got home from work a few minutes later and it was another show and tell for her to see the MH.

We all went into their house and they showed us around.  WOW!  What a beautiful home and is it huge.  They are in the midst of painting the insides and have almost finished the downstairs area.  The rooms sure are large and the floors are beautiful.  I will get some pictures of the house and the surrounding area.

We all went out to dinner at a local restaurant and enjoyed a great meal.  Gerry and I had the Grouper special and thought it was very good, but we like our Grouper grilled and this wasn't, but it was tasty just the same.

After dinner we went back to the MH and chatted a while and then it was time for Grant to go to bed and Jane had some writing to do for work, so Jr came out and visited with us for a while.  By this time we all were bushed and we called it a day.
