Happy Easter

We had a first for us today.  We actually got to church on time and it was full, so they opened the gym and also had services there.  It looked like there were around 180 people waiting for the services to begin.  Twin brothers, who are priests performed mass and did a great job.  We did miss out on the choir and much of the pomp and ceremony, but they got the message out very clearly.  We were in and out of the church in 40 minutes, which is a record for us.  We took time to have our picture taken outside the church and then went back to the park.

We hurried back to the park to get ready for a potluck, Easter lunch.   Gerry had prepared dessert and we picked it up and went to the clubhouse.  I was surprised to see around 50 people there for the lunch since so many people have left the park.  Quite a nice turnout for such an early lunch.  As usual, the food was great and there was more there than everyone could eat.   Ron & Dee K and Dee's mother Mel sat at the table with us and we enjoyed their company.  Dan was serving the ham supplied by the park and was more than generous with the portions.  We visited a while with some of the remaining snowbirds and then went back to the motorhome.

The temps were rising fast and we decided this was going to be an a/c day with the temps going over 90 degrees and no breeze.  We almost always have a nice breeze and it would have been welcome today.

Gerry finished up dyeing the Easter eggs and didn't break a tradition that we've had for all our married life.  When the children were little they participated and as they got older showed less interest.  Not Gerry, it is still something she enjoys doing.

Dee K came down for a visit and I went over to tell Ron & Dee C goodby since they are leaving in the morning.  Ron forced a beer on me and it took a while for the goodbyes.  Have a great trip back you guys.  Gerry went up later to say her goodbyes.

Now we are watching The Amazing Race on tv that is taking place in Tanzania and the scenery is beautiful.  I was in Nairobi for a week and got out into the countryside and loved it there.  Entirely different scenery that we had in the Ivory Coast.

We hope you all had a Happy Easter.
