Desert Flowers

The mass exodus continued today with a number of snowbirds heading back home.  Ron & Dee C left early this morning for Illinois and plan on spending 4 days on the road.  They won't be bone tired and worn out from those long drives.  Sharon & Al have managed to get to Missouri after a week on the road and still have 3-4 days to go before arriving at their home in Illinois.  Gerry and I decided a long time ago to take our time and stop along the way and check out places we haven't been to before.

The little bit of rain Tucson received a couple weeks ago and the desert flowers are blooming all over the place.  The Ocotillo is especially pretty this time of the year and the various cactus flowers are fantastic.  We've taken a few photos of them and as you will see below they are beautiful.

When everyone else starts to leave it gives us hitch itch and we want to follow them.  We extended to April 28 and will begin our trek back east.

We have some places to visit before we leave and will have to hustle to see them all.  It has been very warm the last few days and they are calling for a cooling trend and hopefully my cataract surgery and recovery won't interfere with or sightseeing.  We haven't been to Mt. Lemmon yet this year and that always is a pleasant drive.  So much to see and so little time to see it all.
