Happy Birthday Barbara

Our daughter Barbara is celebrating her birthday today and Henry took her to see a play called Stomp and then on to a nice restaurant called McCormick & Schmick's  for dinner.  As you can tell from her picture she is enjoying herself and got all dolled up.

Hey, where are all the candles?

Happy Birthday Barbara and we hope the upcoming year will be a great one for you and Henry.  Love, Mom & Dad

Four years ago today we were putting her on a plane at the Tucson airport for her ride back to Charlotte, NC.  It seems like just yesterday that we were doing this.  Time does fly quickly and you have to watch it or it will pass you by.

We heard from Al & Sharon about their trip back to Illinois from the Ranch.  They are presently in a nice park in Sayre, OK and loving the place.  They will be leaving in the morning for Springfield, MO and then on to Gillespie, IL the next day.  Sharon has friends in the Gillespie area and wants to visit with them a few days.

I must be snake bitten since I received another text message this morning around 7am.  This one was from ATT telling me that our monthly payment had been processed.  Grrrrrrr!   I could do without that, but at least this one is free.  Then, later in the day I received the text message from Henry with the picture of Barbara on it.  That is fine and we were happy to get it.

It's around 90 degrees today and they are calling for more weather like this for the next few days.   Then it will be heating up for the summer and it will be time to get out of here.  We are shooting for a May 1st departure, but that is open to change.

I am also going through withdrawal from the lack of college basketball games.  I hope I can survive until the NFL starts their season.  Baseball is OK to watch but not nearly as much as basketball and football.  Maybe I will just watch the grass grow in the meantime.

We had flower vendors come through the park today.  There was only time for a quick shot of him as they drove up the street.  He also delivered the newspaper.  What a guy.
Actually, it was our friends Ron & Dee C delivering all their house plants to friends who will be staying in the park all summer.  The plants would die very quickly without being watered regularly so it is better to give them away to people who will care for them.

The picture was shot through the screen door in a big hurry so it isn't the best picture of him.  But you get the idea.
