Special Day & Sad farewell

Our son Larry Jr. was born 41 years ago on this day and he has grown into a fine son, husband, father and all around good person.  We would have liked to be there in person to help him celebrate the day, but that wasn't possible this year.  In any case, we wish him a happy birthday and hope this will be one of his best years ever.

Happy Birthday Larry Jr.

Barbara and Henry got up early today and packed up all their belongings, ate breakfast with us and then hit the road at 9:05 am.  A little later than Henry wanted, but he should be able to make up the time along the way unless he hits a lot of traffic.  We had a great visit with them this last week and I know Barbara & Gerry got in a lot of crafting days.  It was sad to see them leave, but we will see them again one of these days.

NOTE: ------  Henry sent me an email about the 14 mile backup on I-81 South that they ran into.  A tractor-trailer truck had a couple tires catch fire in the middle of a construction zone and it created a mess for those unlucky travelers.  Delays of 2+ hours were common and sitting at a complete standstill of 15-20 minutes were the rule of the day.

Now it is time to get caught up on some much needed rest up here at the cabin.  We have some small chores to take care of, a couple doctor appointments and then we are free agents.

  1. Great time this past week but I agree it is time to rest and stay home for a while. 81 south closed on the way back so we had to take back roads and it added an extra hour to our trip...thank god for Candian Club!!
