By The River RV Park

Gerry and I decided to take it easy today and just hang out around the motorhome.  There were a number of small chores to be taken care of and most of them are done.  I may be able to wash the motorhome on Friday if they can get the pump working that takes the water from the river.  I'm not so sure that the water will be that clean, but time will tell.

The couple  next to us was walking about checking the electricity on the posts near us.  It seems they lost power but we still had full power to our motorhome.  I hooked up our Hughes Autoformer and all was well with our unit.  Thanks Ron.

We drove around the campground a little bit today and went out on the island where the tent campers are.  I felt sorry for them since the temps were in the high 90s and they are forecasting thunderstorms for the evening.  We brought our awning in before dinner to avoid getting caught in the high winds that usually come with the t-storms.

The entrance to the campground has a very steep hill that I don't think I could get out of in the mh without dragging the hitch.  We came in via the exit way and that was fine, but I wanted to see how bad it was, so today we drove down the incline.  I would hate to come in after dark and have to descend that hill.

There are two ways to get to the island.  One is an old concrete road that runs through the water and the other is a nice bridge.  The bridge wouldn't hold our motorhome, but a car can go over it.  Of course we took the road through the water.  We always have enjoyed riding through creek beds and used to do it all the time in Rock Creek Park in Washington, DC when we lived there.  Just the kid coming out of us.

There is a small inlet from the river that creates the island and there is a small waterfall area that is very scenic.  Calling it a waterfall is a real stretch of the imagination, but it is pretty in that area.

We had a nice long phone call from our daughter Cassie and got caught up on a lot of things.  She leads a very busy life and is constantly on the go, so getting a chance for a long conversation is very rare.  They are in the process of adopting  "Red" and things are finally moving again.

  1. Sounds like you're having fun. Glad you don't think you're to old for that. It's thundering here but haven't checked to see what else. Fox Doppler radar is just down the street a mile of less so it's showing some storms but nothing like south of us.
