Catch up time at the cabin.

The cabin sat vacant since last September except for the times that Cassie & Jack came up here for the weekend.  Once winter set in, they only came up on day trips to check it out and make sure nobody had stolen it.  Our neighbor behind us also keeps an eye on the place and since the road is private, there isn't much traffic in here.

Even being closed up the cabin manages to get very dusty and dirty and it takes us a few days to clean it and make it habitable again.  Today we worked on the porch, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen.  Hopefully by Saturday evening it will be all cleaned and ready to go.

We haven't been doing anything interesting the past few days other than shopping and cleaning the place.  Not really something that most readers would find interesting, so the frequency of publishing the blog will be sporadic.  Larry Jr. and Grant will be leaving on Monday or Tuesday.   Gerry has a routine Dr appointment and she will drive Cassie to a Dr appointment on Tuesday.  Then we will schedule our other Dr appointments and get them out of the way.  We don't want any surprises that keep us here any later than October 1, so we can take our time heading back to Tucson.  Wish us luck.

It looks like we are in for some nice weather with no rain and as a result, low humidity.  We really feel the humidity after spending so much time out in the Southwest.  I wish there was a happy medium for the dryness and humidity, so it was more comfortable.  At least it isn't that dreaded white stuff falling from the sky.  That is to be avoided at all costs.

That was our exciting day, how was yours?

  1. That's kind of like our blog - many days I'm not doing anything while Jim is fishing. Not blog fodder. We've really had a pretty good summer this year weather wise. Humidity not too high (except when it rains) and not too hot yet. That could change as we get further into August.
