Wicked night for us

Gerry decided we should upgrade our cultural life and bought tickets to "Wicked"  that was playing at the Tucson Music Hall.  We picked up the tickets at the theater last week and checked out where to park.  The downtown area near the Music Hall is a real mess with all the construction going on, but tonight we managed to park in the first row of the parking lot.  That made it great for getting out of there ahead of the crowd.

We were instructed to get there early for a good parking space and arrived a little after 6:10 for a 7:30 show.  Now what to do before they let us in the theater?  After sitting outside enjoying the beautiful weather, we managed to get in through the handicap entrance and chatted with the ticket taker/usher for 20 minutes or so until they opened the theater doors.  It is a strangely shaped place and doesn't have a center aisle, so if you are in the middle of a row, there will be 30 people on each side of you.  We managed to get a seat on the end of an aisle and that worked out fine for us.  Next time we will upgrade to the next best seat and be closer to the stage.

We both enjoyed the musical very much.  Many of the performers were from the Broadway version and their talent showed through.  The two lead witches had great voices and really carried the play.  They also had some great supporting talent on stage.

We had a busy day before the musical and had an early dinner and then headed downtown.

That was our day, how was yours?

  1. I know what you mean about the spam...I get more and more each day but I doubt the people that comment on mine will get gmail so I will just continue to delete. Weather here has been great till today which is supposed to be rainy and cold but then nice again for the weekend. We have had a ton of rain lately and more forecasted for next week. Off to Raleigh/Cary today...no knee updates lately?

  3. Betsy and Alan saw Wicked in Chicago before it went to Broadway and loved it. If you get the chance to see "Jersey Boys", take it. I think you'll enjoy the music from "Four Seasons". Ron sure did and he didn't want to go in the first place.
