We got an early morning phone call that shattered our peaceful sleep. Where oh where was the phone and how do I shut if off? Since it was a local number, I mumbled into it and a cheerful person informed me that our part for the toilet in the RV had arrived. I paid extra for overnight shipping and it was a good thing that I had since the weather back in the Midwest was terrible. If it had been shipped via truck I would have to wait until next week at the earliest for the part.
We managed to get ready and drove the RV to La Mesa and left it for them to finish the job they had started. Gerry had PT scheduled so we drove back to her appointment and she received her first treatment for a sore neck. No, it wasn't me that caused the problem. Then it was back to La Mesa to pick up the RV. Ron K likes to check out RVs and he went back with us.
Gerry and Ron checked out a few new RVs while I talked to the service tech about when the job would be finished. There was a really nice 2014 Tiffin 37' Allegro Bus on the lot and they were very impressed by the coach. It was nice, but there were some fatal flaws in the RV and I didn't like it that much. It was too dark inside and the furniture arrangement was not right for the coach. It did have four 42" tvs throughout, which was a little over the top for me.
I managed to drag them out of the coach before Gerry bought it and by then our Bus was ready to roll. Once I parted with $$ galore, I left in our coach and Ron rode along with me. It was his first trip in a coach our size and I think he liked the ride.
Then it was back to setting up the coach again and relaxing for a few minutes. My brother called and said they were at TTT visiting a friend and invited us to join them for dinner. Back out on the road and up to TTT for a hot roast beef sandwich for Gerry and catfish filets for me. Once again there was too much food, but we did enjoy the dinner with Dick & Sue.
We made it an early evening since by then we were worn out and ready for bed.
Just another exciting day for us out here in the desert. What about you, what did you do for excitement?

There is a free lunch
We have a few led lights burnt out in the motor home and today was the time to replace them. In addition, one of the glass covers was broken by me when it fell out of my hand. So, it was off to the La Mesa RV to pick up the glass cover and some bulbs.
We wound up arriving just around lunch time and decided to take advantage of their free lunch for customers. They usually just have hamburgers, hotdogs and simple lunch meals. Today they pulled out all the stops and had carne asada, corn tortillas, rice, salad, beans and their delicious cookies. We were surprised by how much food they put out and couldn't finish it all. We brought the cookies home for a snack tonight and they were great. We had some tomato basil soup for dinner and that was more than enough to satisfy us.
We did buy the led lights and took all their stock. Then it was over to LazyDays to buy some more and we bought all their stock, also. There must be a run on led lights here in Tucson.
Costco was the next stop on our agenda and we filled up the gas tank on the car at $3.00/gallon. It was around $2.85 the last time we were there. I guess they are starting the summer ripoff for fuel early this year. We managed to arrive at Costco around their peak rush hour and all the cashiers were open and full of customers when we checked out. Just our luck.
We installed the led lights and now the motor home is brighter than ever. I hope these last a while since they are expensive for such a small bulb.
Yesterday Gerry and I built the platform for outside the motor home to make it easier for me to enter it with the walker that I will have for a while after my knee surgery. It will give me space to turn around with the walker and should be a big help. Time will tell.
Not a lot exciting going on around here lately and I would imagine it will get even more boring while I go through PT after the knee replacement.

New Caliphers
We were up early today and out of the park by 8:30 so we could get to La Mesa Rv for our 9:00 am appointment to have the caliphers replaced under warranty by Workhorse. The old caliphers have been a problem since 2002 and it took the US Gov't to put pressure on them to fix the problem. Today was the day. I hope the new caliphers won't stick and ruin the brakes like the old ones did.
We sat in one place with the MH for three months and when we went to bring in the slides they almost didn't come in completely. With a little coaching they finally came in and then it was time to raise the leveling jacks. You got it, the front ones didn't want to raise all the way either. A couple tries freed them up enough to make the trip down to the dealer. Hang in there, Gerry noticed the electric steps hadn't come in all the way. I applied some lubricant to them and they seem to be working once again. Sitting still for that long takes it toll on the MH and us. Time to hit the road before we freeze up all together.
We met a number of couples in the waiting area and listened to their MH woes. Two of them had Tiffin high end coaches and were having a number of problems with them. Tiffin has an excellent name and reputation in the MH industry and we were surprised to hear about their trouble. They both said they loved their units and would buy again when it was time.
The dealer provides a free lunch and we went down and had some tacos and drinks. Nice feature since there aren't any restaurants in the immediate area. The tacos were pretty good and we are thinking about going back on Tuesday for the BBQ chicken. LOL
One quick stop for propane and we arrived back at the park in time to hook the unit back up and settle in. That is, after they turned the water back on and we flushed our tanks. They have been having a lot of water outages the last couple months due to unknown causes. At least we have extra water in our fresh water tank so all is well.
We received some good news today from our grand daughter Stephanie. She has passed all her course work and will graduate as a nurse this May. Congratulations Stephanie. You worked hard for this and deserve it. She will be pinned the Thursday night before her brother Jared graduates from East Carolina University on Friday. Then on Saturday there will be a wedding shower for Sean & Taylor, followed by graduation parties Saturday night. Sunday will be Mothers Day celebration and Monday crash day for us old people.
Now to get to bed early and catch up on some much needed sleep.
Oh, BTW, congratulation to Gloria and Doug on getting their rearend repaired. I know it must be a relief for them.
Buenas noches. bonne nuit, good night.
