Saturday a man tried to abduct a female runner about 7 miles from where we are staying. The image of his truck was captured on a security camera but he managed to get away. Tonight the truck was spotted and the police gave chase and this time he jumped out of the truck and ran. They have closed down the neighborhood where he was last seen and have tracking dogs searching for him along with helicopters with searchlights. Hopefully he will be caught and get his due.
We are far enough away from the incident and are safe in our motorhome. It seems there is always something going on around here, good and bad.
Ron K, Gerry and I went to a local bar/restaurant for lunch today. Just our luck to be between lunch specials and happy hour, but we managed to enjoy a great meal there. After the lunch we went to the local Dairy Queen to take advantage of Gerry's free coupon for a medium blizzard.
Early this morning a small helicopter flew very low over the park and the engine sounded funny. It startled us but we put it out of our thoughts until later in the day when we heard a helicopter went down a few miles from here. I don't now if it was the same helicopter, but the timing was the same for both events. We do have A-10s and other military aircraft flying over the park all the time and this just sounded like another one of those planes.
That was enough excitement for one day for us.
