Thunderstorms & Geocaches

We had an quiet day here in NC today.  We slept in a little and then hung around the house and took it easy.  Gerry wanted to visit with Barbara and work on her crafting so we headed over that way in the early afternoon.

While they worked on cards, Larry Jr., Grant and I went out to pick up some geocaches in the area.  They were close to Barbara's house and we waited for a storm to pass through the area.  The rain sort of limited which geocaches we could look for without getting mud soaked and wet, so we kept to ones near the road.  We each found a cache and quit after 3 caches.  There are a lot of caches in the area, but we didn't have time to find them all.

Later Barbara joined us for dinner at Larry Jr & Jane's house and we finished off a bottle of Sangria wine which was very good.  The meal prepared by Jr. was great as usual and we all managed to stuff ourselves.

Now we are watching some of the Olympic events and taking it easy.  The track and field events are on I always enjoy them since I ran track while in High School.  My events were 440 yard, broad jumping and the 220.  We had to run track if we wanted to play football, so there wasn't a lot of choice for me.  It's hard to believe that I actually was in that good of shape to do those events.   Not now though.

That was my exciting day, how was yours?

  1. My day would have been more exciting if I'd found 3 caches ;-)
Be sure to find a cache on the 18th... get your souvenir!
