We had tried to find Mescal before with Sharon & Al and had exited the highway too soon. The secondary road ended and we had to turn back to Vail, but this time I drove to the correct exit and all was well. The bar looks like a log house on the outside but a regular bar inside. When we entered the bar everyone stopped talking and stared at us. That should have been our first clue.
They had poker tables out and the games were in full progress. It definitely wasn't high stake poker since there was a $2.00 buy in and when that was gone you were out. Just a fun game rather than really gambling. We pay $2.00 for lucky bucks and at least here you get to play the game. The payouts are less at the poker games than lucky buck drawings.
Between the two large poker tables and the two pool tables there wasn't a table large enough for us to sit at. We went outside and sat in the smoking section, but since it was windy, it wasn't a problem. The food selection was limited but was good and the service was fine, also. It is a bar more than a grill, so if you are looking for fine dining, skip on by.

They have a section in front for motorcyle parking and it looks like they cater to the motorcycle crowd. There was a sign on the door advertising a bike wash on a couple dates. If you are in need of having your bike washed, you might want to consider the place on those dates.
The RV park is getting people off the road and about 4-5 rvers stop in each evening. There are fewer rvs on the road and the winter snowbirding season is over for Tucson. Still a few hanger ons, but everything has wound down.
